Spots to Avoid

Spots to AvoidAfter working hard for the better part of a year, most people look forward to a vacation.  It’s time to spend with family, relax, rejuvenate, and maybe even go out of town to someplace special.  Some people actually plan and save for many months, just to afford a trip to a special destination.  Unfortunately, sometimes the holiday is not all it’s cracked up to be, and individuals actually look forward to going back to work. To prevent the same from happening to you, avoid the following vacation spots:

Trash Vortex

If you are on a voyage at sea and throw garbage overboard, it quickly disappears beneath the waves.  But, where does it go?  Does it disintegrate, get eaten by the sea creatures, or float around until the end of time?

Unfortunately, because of the North Pacific Gyre, much of the trash that is discarded by humanity lands in a place called the Great Pacific Garden Patch.  Because much of the area is under the ocean, the exact side of this great dumping ground is anywhere from the size of Texas to the entire continental United States.  The currents take all of this trash and dump it in this area.  Anything that is not biodegradable is likely to end up in a place like this – a giant garbage dump. It’s shocking to see, but you won’t want to spend much time there.
